Sheridan Electric Cooperative (SEC) will be implementing a charitable giving program called Operation Round Up® (ORU) which will benefit organizations and communities across our service territory. The plan is to start this in early 2024 with the first distributions in 2025.
ORU is a program funded by SEC members who have their monthly electric bill “rounded up” to the nearest dollar. For example, if a member’s monthly bill comes to $105.78, SEC rounds the bill up to $106. The extra $.22 goes directly to the Operation Round Up fund. The maximum a member can donate through ORU is $.99 a month or $11.88 per year. The average amount rounded up in a year is $7 per member account.
SEC’s current Board of Directors will select a board of nine trustees to review Operation Round Up applications during the year and determine how funds will be distributed. The application can be filled out below or printed off and mailed to PO Box 227, Medicine Lake, MT 59247.
Every member will automatically be signed up to contribute to this program. However, if you would like to “opt out” of this program, you can call the cooperative at 406-789-2231 or send an e-mail to info@sheridanelectric.coop.
